Terms and Conditions
Welcome to Shop Custom Papers. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Shop Custom Papers website, products, quotations and services. By visiting our website, requesting a quotation, uploading artwork or placing an order, you agree to these Terms, subject to any rights you may have under applicable UK law.
Shop Custom Papers specialises in manufacturing custom-printed paper products, including butcher paper, deli paper, wax paper, greaseproof paper, parchment paper, freezer paper, kraft paper, tissue paper, gift-wrapping paper and other custom food-wrapping solutions.
As our products are manufactured according to individual customer specifications, specific conditions apply to artwork approval, production, order amendments, cancellations, returns and refunds.
If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use our website or services.
1. Definitions
For the purposes of these Terms, the following definitions apply.
Company
“Company”, “we”, “our” and “us” refer to Shop Custom Papers.
Customer
“Customer”, “buyer” and “you” refer to any individual or business requesting a quotation, placing an order or using our services.
Products
“Products” refers to all custom-printed paper products, paper sheets, paper rolls, food-wrapping papers, packaging papers and related items manufactured or supplied by Shop Custom Papers.
Artwork
“Artwork” refers to logos, graphics, images, text, branding elements and design files supplied by the customer for printing or production.
2. Acceptance of Orders
Submitting a quotation request does not, by itself, create a binding order.
An order will normally be accepted once the relevant requirements have been completed, including the following:
Quotation Confirmation
The customer accepts the quotation issued by Shop Custom Papers.
Artwork Approval
Where artwork approval is required, the customer approves the final production proof.
Payment Confirmation
Any required advance payment or other agreed payment is received or authorised.
Production Confirmation
Our production team confirms that the necessary product specifications and production details are complete.
Shop Custom Papers reserves the right to refuse or cancel an order where reasonably necessary, including in cases involving pricing errors, unavailable materials, suspected fraud, legal restrictions or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Where an order has already been accepted, any cancellation or refusal will be handled in accordance with the agreed order terms and applicable law.
3. Quotations and Pricing
All quotations are prepared using the information supplied by the customer.
Prices may vary depending on factors including:
- Paper material and grade
- Sheet or roll dimensions
- GSM (grams per square metre) or paper thickness
- Printing method
- Number of printing colours
- Order quantity
- Finishing requirements
- Packaging requirements
- Delivery destination
Unless otherwise stated, quotations remain valid for 30 calendar days from the date of issue.
Prices may need to be revised if the customer changes the order specifications after a quotation has been issued. Any revised price will be communicated for agreement before the affected work proceeds.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, quotations will specify whether delivery charges, VAT or other applicable charges are included.
4. Payment Terms
Production will normally begin once the agreed payment requirements have been satisfied.
Depending on the order, payment arrangements may include:
- Full payment before production
- An agreed deposit followed by a balance payment
- An agreed payment schedule
- Approved credit terms for eligible business customers
Failure to make a payment when due may delay production or result in the order being suspended or cancelled, subject to the agreed terms and applicable law.
Any applicable VAT, customs duties, import charges or other government-imposed fees will be handled in accordance with the quotation, the delivery arrangements and applicable law.
5. Custom Manufacturing
Products manufactured by Shop Custom Papers are made according to the individual customer’s requirements.
Custom-printed paper products may be produced to approved specifications, including:
- Paper type and grade
- Paper weight
- Dimensions and sizes
- Printing colours
- Logo placement
- Artwork and design
- Order quantity
- Finishing options
As these products are personalised, they may not be suitable for resale to other customers.
Custom orders are therefore generally not eligible for returns or exchanges simply because a customer changes their mind, subject to any applicable statutory rights. This does not affect your rights where products are faulty, incorrectly supplied or do not conform to the agreed specifications.
6. Customer Responsibilities
Customers are responsible for providing accurate and complete information before production begins.
Product Specifications
Customers should carefully check and confirm:
- Product size and dimensions
- Paper material and grade
- Order quantity
- Printing colours
- Finishing requirements
- Any special manufacturing instructions
Contact Information
Customers must provide accurate contact, billing and delivery details so that quotations, order confirmations and other communications can be processed correctly.
Delivery Information
Incorrect or incomplete delivery addresses may result in delivery difficulties, additional charges or delays.
Customers should notify us promptly if their delivery details change before dispatch.
7. Artwork Submission
Customers may submit artwork in the file formats accepted by our team.
For the best printing results, we recommend supplying high-resolution artwork or suitable vector files wherever possible.
Submitted artwork should include:
- Correct spelling and wording
- Accurate dimensions
- Appropriate logo placement
- Suitable image resolution
- Required bleed areas
- Embedded or outlined fonts, where applicable
Artwork that does not meet production requirements may need to be amended before printing. Our team may provide guidance or request replacement files where necessary.
Any additional artwork preparation or design charges will be communicated where applicable.
8. Artwork Approval
Before manufacturing begins, customers may receive a digital proof for review and approval.
Customers should carefully check the following details.
Text Accuracy
Review all spelling, grammar, punctuation, product information and contact details.
Design Layout
Confirm the positioning of logos, graphics, borders, background elements and other design features.
Dimensions
Verify that the approved dimensions are suitable for the intended application.
Printing Colours
Check the colour specifications and ensure that the proof reflects the agreed design requirements.
Production will normally begin after final artwork approval has been received.
Customers are responsible for checking the proof before approving it. Where a product has been manufactured correctly in accordance with the approved artwork, we may not be responsible for errors that were present in that artwork.
This does not exclude responsibility for production errors, non-conforming products or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Customer-Supplied Artwork
Customers retain ownership of artwork they supply, subject to any third-party rights or licences that apply.
By submitting artwork, customers confirm that:
- They own the artwork or design; or
- They have obtained the necessary permissions, licences or rights to use and reproduce it.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that their artwork does not infringe the intellectual property rights of another person or business.
Shop Custom Papers may decline artwork where there are reasonable grounds to believe that its use would be unlawful or infringe third-party rights.
To the extent permitted by law, customers remain responsible for disputes arising from artwork they have supplied without the necessary permissions.
10. Printing and Colour Variations
Commercial printing can involve minor colour variations.
Printed colours may differ slightly from how they appear on:
- Computer monitors
- Mobile devices
- Office printers
- Previous production runs
Such differences may arise from paper stock, ink absorption, printing equipment, lighting conditions and screen calibration.
Customers requiring specific colour matching should discuss Pantone references or other colour requirements with our team before production begins.
Minor variations may be normal in commercial printing. However, any material discrepancy from agreed colour specifications will be assessed against the approved proof and applicable production standards.
11. Production Tolerances
Paper manufacturing and commercial printing involve certain production tolerances. The applicable tolerances may vary depending on the product, material and manufacturing process.
Minor variations may occur in the following areas.
Cutting
Small differences in trim position or finished dimensions may occur within the agreed production tolerances.
Folding
Minor variations in fold position may occur during manufacturing.
Print Registration
Small shifts in the alignment of printed elements may occur during printing.
Paper Grain
Natural variations in paper grain and orientation may affect the appearance or handling of the finished product.
Sheet and Roll Quantities
Where quantity tolerances apply, these will depend on the product and the terms agreed before production.
Variations that fall within the agreed tolerances will not normally constitute manufacturing defects. Products that materially fall outside the agreed specifications will be reviewed and addressed in accordance with the order terms and applicable law.
12. Design Services
Where requested, Shop Custom Papers may provide design assistance to help customers prepare artwork for production.
Design services may include:
- Logo placement
- Layout preparation
- File adjustments
- Print-ready artwork preparation
- Custom branding concepts
Customers remain responsible for reviewing and approving the final artwork before production begins.
Where design fees apply, these will be communicated to the customer in advance. Fees for work already completed may be non-refundable where permitted by the agreed terms and applicable law.
13. Changes to Orders
Customers may request changes to an order before production begins.
Changes to artwork, quantities, materials, dimensions or finishing options may affect:
- The total order price
- Production schedules
- Estimated delivery dates
- Material availability
We will advise customers of any significant changes to price or timing where applicable.
Once manufacturing has started, changes may no longer be possible. If a change can still be accommodated, additional charges or delays may apply, subject to customer agreement.
14. Order Cancellation
Customers should submit cancellation requests in writing as soon as possible.
Where production has not started, we will consider the cancellation request and confirm whether it can be accepted.
If artwork preparation, proofing, material purchasing or manufacturing has already begun, cancellation may not be possible without costs being incurred.
Where appropriate and legally permitted, costs relating to work already completed or materials purchased specifically for the order may be taken into account when calculating any refund.
Orders that have entered the printing or manufacturing stage are generally difficult to cancel because the products are made to the customer’s specifications.
